A Gift For Jesus Under The Tree

Jill Hardie is a writer and marketing professional with a great deal of enthusiasm for the Sparkle Box concept. Jill's family started the tradition about seven years ago, and now the Sparkle Box is the gift they most anticipate opening each year.

So what IS a Sparkle Box? The Sparkle Box is a special box you put under your tree for Jesus. It's a gift for Jesus, and you fill it with things that will honor Him and bring Him joy on Christmas Day -His birthday!

The busyness of this season with all the gift-buying, planning and cooking, can easily pull us all away from the real meaning of Christmas. That was something Jill realised that was happening with her family. So she decided to do something new that one year. The impact of that first Sparkle Box was amazing and it became a family tradition in the Hardie family.

"Each year we have continued this tradition and have realized that it's not only a gift to Jesus and to those in need, but a powerful way to center Christmas," says Jill.

What does Christmas mean to you? A nice family time, a delicious feast, a time to sing carols and be with your loved ones? All these are good, but let's bring the focus back to Jesus this year and ask yourself what you can put into the Sparkle Box that will make Jesus happy.

Let's all give Him a gift this year that will honor Him, just like how the wise men and shepherds did when Jesus was born.

"And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh." Matt 2:11

Dear God, sometimes my "testing" season seems so long. Please give me courage to endure until the end. Help me not to bail! You said you would bless me for hanging in there - I will not give up on you or your promises. You are with me and will see me through this trial.
