Melissa Ohden has become a voice for the voiceless, after surviving a failed saline infusion abortion in 1977. Despite the initial concerns regarding Melissa's future after surviving the attempt to end her life and being born alive at approximately seven months gestation, she has not only survived but thrived.
In 2012, Melissa founded an organization called The Abortion Survivors Network. The purpose for this organization is to let other survivors know that they are not alone and educate the public about such cases. Since the inception of the network, Melissa had come to know about 174 other survivors - with 5 of them from Canada.
