Christian Horizons is a non-profit, faith-based charitable organization serving nearly 2,000 people with developmental disabilities and their families in Ontario and 55,000 people developing communities worldwide. Their vision is to see people with exceptional needs belong to communities in which their God-given gifts are valued and respected. They provide relevant and current programs, like supported residential services and vocational supports, we work with Churches and other groups to create opportunities for people with disabilities, as we advocate for legislation, policy and social awareness about the realities and involvement of people with exceptional needs worldwide.
Janet Nolan, CEO of Christian Horizons, started working part-time with Christian Horizons 25 years ago and had never expected to be where she is now with the organization. It have been an amazing journey for her to see how much they have grown over the years and keeping to their vision. They have become the largest service provider here in Ontario with 3400 staff members serving on their behalf every day.
Through the years, Christian Horizons has been able to navigate through various partnerships with the government, businesses as well as churches to bring about a transformation with regards to integrating people with disabilities back into our communities.
