Colton Dixon's 2013 debut, A Messenger, set the record for biggest first-week sales by a new solo Christian act, becoming the No. 1 selling album of 2013 by a new Christian artist and the No. 9 best selling album of 2013 in the Christian genre overall. A Messenger also became the No. 22 best-selling album across all genres that same year, while Dixon was still reeling from his highly publicized seventh place finish on Season 11 of American Idol.
Colton received three Dove Award nominations, winning for Best Contemporary/Rock Album, and he was nominated for Male Artist of the Year by the 2014 and 2015 KLOVE Fan Awards. Colton also racked up two No. 1 radio singles in 2013 and toured with Third Day, TobyMac and Josh Wilson. His follow up album, Anchor, debuted this past August and includes the No. 1 hit and most-played Hot-AC Song of 2014, "More of You," and his new single, "Through All of It." Colton played to more than 500,000 people in 2013, and his 2014 tour schedule placed him in front of more than 800,000 people by year's end. He is currently touring with Matthew West throughout the US this spring.
His passions for music and ministry are equal, with great desire to reach his generation where they and motivate them to keep the torch lit for Christ. That passion plays a role on his new album after realizing how easy it is to become distracted and drift from where he needed to be after the success of his first album. That's where the title Anchor came from. Colton knew that others would relate, and that he could encourage listeners by being honest about his own struggles.
