Connect the Dots - Family Picnic

Who doesn't love a picnic? How about a fun indoor family picnic? Get a blanket, a tray and some bowls. No ants, no bugs, you don't even need sunscreen. Let everyone choose a snack that they love to bring to the picnic. Find a place in the house that you want to set up - and then go for it. Spread out the food and let the picnic begin.

Ask everyone to show what snack they picked as their favorite, the snack that they love the most. As you are eating your snacks, talk about each other and share the things you love the most about each individual.

Talk about how we can love each other, and that when we know God, we can love like God. A lot of good conversation can happen at a picnic!

Lots of fun. Great moments. Connecting faith.

Loving each other, loving God.

Items needed - Tray with snacks, blanket.

Instructions - Set up a picnic inside, everyone gets to choose their favorite snack for the picnic.

Family Application - Talk about the snack you picked and what makes you love it. Then, talk about your favorite things about each other and about you can love each other like God loves us.

Scripture - I John 4:7-12, "Let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."

Dear God, sometimes my "testing" season seems so long. Please give me courage to endure until the end. Help me not to bail! You said you would bless me for hanging in there - I will not give up on you or your promises. You are with me and will see me through this trial.
