Connect the Dots - Hide and Seek in the Dark

Let's go back to the classics. There's a game that my family has loved to play for years. Hide and seek - with a different twist. For this family time all you need are a couple of flashlights and some great hiding places. So, it's pretty simple. Pick up a few flashlights at the dollar store - one for each person in the family. If you want to get crafty you can even personalize the flashlights with stickers. Then, turn off the lights and start to play! Same rules apply as regular hide and seek, maybe pair up if your kids are younger. This will be a game your children will ask to play all the time.

This game is fun, and it also provides a chance for a great family faith moment. After the game, you can talk about Jesus who is the light of the world. Ask your children how they can shine for him each day.

Lots of fun. Great moments. Connecting faith.

Let your light shine!

Items needed - Flashlights

Instructions - Play a game of hide and seek, but in the dark using flashlights.

Family Application - Talk about how Jesus is the light of the world and how his light shines bright in the darkness. We can also shine bright like Jesus.

Scripture - Matthew 5:14-15, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Dear God, sometimes my "testing" season seems so long. Please give me courage to endure until the end. Help me not to bail! You said you would bless me for hanging in there - I will not give up on you or your promises. You are with me and will see me through this trial.
