Arvid Loewen is biking across Canada to raise funds for the Mulley Children's Family, an organization that Crossroads Relief and Development has partnered with for more than a decade, which helps street kids in Kenya.
Arvid is supporting the Mulley Children's Family because he loves to help disadvantaged kids. When he became aware of Mulley Children's Family organization in 2005, it was like God hit him with a 2x4 and told him that this is the organization he has to be involved in. Since that time, Arvid has dedicated his life to volunteering full time for the Mulley kids. Arvid has seen biking across Canada as an incredible journey as well as emotionally and spiritually. Arvid has learned overtime that he can make a difference, he just has to be willing and obedient to God.
Arvid is attempting to break his own Guinness World Record that he set in 2011, 13 days, 6 hours and 13 minutes. He was on the bike 20 hours a day, sleeping 90 minutes a night.
During that period of time, Arvid experienced the highest of highest and the lowest of lows physically, mentally and emotionally. Over the course of time he has learned that when he has reached the bottom of what he considers to be his abilities, that's when life becomes very interesting.
This will be Arvid's fourth crossing of Canada. He believes that we can do more than we think we can. He does train and prepare for it. However, he has learned that difficult does not mean that it is not possible.
Arvid will be leaving July 2nd at 6 o'clock in the morning.
