Today's encouragement comes from Romans 8:15 (NIV), "The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship…"
Simply put, we should not act like people who are owned or controlled by the world or we will live in a state of constant fear. Instead, we should live as children of God- protected, loved, forgiven and redeemed.
So, What is fear?
To fear is to be afraid of someone or something that is dangerous, painful, or threatening.
Fear is an emotion caused by threat.
Fear robs us of our joy and causes us distress.
Fear is a response to danger.
Fear refuses to let us change.
Fear does not allow for love.
Fear comes in reaction of pain.
Fear can cripple our emotions.
Fear inhibits us from pursuing our dreams.
Fear causes us to stay quiet.
Fear is the root of a broken spirit.
Fear may make us hide.
Fear arises in uncertainty.
Fear welcomes the negative to take up residency in our heart.
But as children of God we have hope, we are not alone, God is with us.
