For the Christians in Nigeria times are tough. Many people have lost their lives or the lives of their friends and family. Maggie John and Greg Musselman talk about Greg Musselman's recent trip to Lagos, Nigeria where the Boko Haram are terrorizing Nigeria. Their devastating reach has touched Christians all over northern Nigeria.
Greg travelled to a Deeper Life Bible Church in the north of Nigeria, and on the floor of the church Greg found a Bible stained with blood along with more blood stains on the floor and bullet holes in the wall. The blood and bullets in the church is evidence of the ten people who have been recently killed in this church, which also shows the fear and hardships Nigerian Christians are suffering with. Naomi is one such suffering Christian, a young single mother whose husband has been killed, leaving her to raise their young son alone. Pastor Jonson Yarro is another Christian victim of terrorism. His wife was killed during a prayer meeting when the church was praying for the well-being of their country.
On another part of his trip Greg felt the fear that many people live with in the northern parts of Africa when his car was stopped in the crowed city of Lagos. His car was mistakenly thought to be full of Americans, and men surrounded the car and started to bang on the windows. Greg began to wonder if it would be his last day on earth. Thankfully, Greg and his team managed to assure the men that they were Canadians, and the men left them in peace. Another source of peace for Greg in this terror ridden place was that he knew he would eventually leave and return home, but most of the people in northern Nigeria can't leave the country, and the Christians live in great fear. However, they are standing firm in their faith and refusing to let fear keep them down.
