Finishing the Race

At the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sunday, October 20th 2013, two elite Canadian women both broke a long standing record by a fellow Canadian woman. First across was Lanni Marchant who shaved almost half a minute from the 28 year old record of Sylvia Ruegger. Krista Duchene followed close behind also broke the mark.

Here, Krista reminds us that when God give you the talent and passions, He will also give you the grace, mercy and strength to pull you through. Faith has played a huge role in her running - it is all about God for her. Having said that, Krista adds that, "it doesn't mean that you are going to have the best race every time you race."

"It takes more Grace than I can tell, to play the second fiddle well."

Through all the various competitions, she has tasted both success and failure. Krista knows that running is a God-given passion to her and she intends to keep on going no matter what.

Dear God, sometimes my "testing" season seems so long. Please give me courage to endure until the end. Help me not to bail! You said you would bless me for hanging in there - I will not give up on you or your promises. You are with me and will see me through this trial.
