Mike Gordon has a heart for young people and he strongly believes that God can change any lives. After all, Mike was an example of how God turned his life around.
Mike Gordon was born and raised in Toronto. His parents divorced when he was 13 and he started living with his mother and her new boyfriend. However, Mike did not get along well with her boyfriend and they decided to kick him out of the house.
He ended up moving in with his alcoholic father who was a very angry man. Mike started walking down the wrong path and making the wrong decisions. Drugs, alcohol and crime were part of his life. He was bitter, angry and destructive.
A friend of his started going to a church and invited Mike to join him. Mike signed up for the basketball outreach that the church was doing and got to know the youth pastor. Through the love shown by the youth pastor, Mike finally felt that someone does care for him. Thus when he got invited to attend a service at the church, he agreed.
Mike noticed something different about the "Christians" and got interested. However, he was still very much living in the same lifestyle as before, except perhaps those couple of hours on a Sunday.
It was during a missions trip to Mexico when he finally surrendered his life to Christ. When he got back to Toronto, he lost all desire for drugs, alcohol and crime.
After getting his first taste of ministry as a summer intern at a church in Toronto, he knew God was calling him to commit his life to serving Him so he dropped out of school and pursued ministry. Over the last 9 years, he started The Rock House Ministries where he has planted or reshaped over a dozen ministries in Ontario. He has also become an international speaker, speaking over 850 times using his humour, education, experience and unique style to teach everyone from teenagers to pastors.
