For 4 years, Ellen Graf-Martin worked with RG Mitchell Family Books as manager of Media and Consumer Relations, developing promotions strategies for top-level authors and publishing brands. She arranged campaigns for authors we know and love.
In Sept 2008, a door slammed shut for Ellen - she lost her job at Mitchell.
Yet within a couple of weeks, 2 publishers have contacted her, eager to continue working with her. One of them threw out the idea for Ellen to open her own agency. That was how Graf-Martin Communications was established - an open door that Ellen and her husband ran through without looking back.
When she was 19, Ellen visited an orphanage in Haiti as part of a mission trip. God really worked in her life at that time to bring her back to Him.
At the orphanage, a child handed her a note.
"Will you please adopt me?"
This was a turning point for Ellen. She never threw away that note.
She knew at that point that adoption will be part of her story. So even before Ellen and her husband were engaged, they had agreed upon adopting.
They found out later, while trying to have a child, that it would be life threatening for Ellen to bear children. Fortunately by then, they had already began the adoption process.
Now, their little girl is not quite two years old and is absolutely the love and joy of their lives.
God's blessings are so amazing. He is always faithful.
Ellen's life is a testimony to that.
