You're a good, good Father
It's who you are; it's who you are.
And I'm loved by you.
It's who I am; it's who I am.
We sang this worship song by Housefires at church this past week and those words struck so deep within me. I can't stop singing them. It feels like a revelation that I didn't even realize I was looking for. Word of powerful truth. Like a wave hit me and brought refreshing to my thirsty heart.
It's so simple.
You're a good, good Father,
It's who you are.
Scripture declares that so many times. His goodness has been shown over and over.
Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6
Taste and see that the Lord is good. Psalm 34:8
Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17
I have loved you with an everlasting love. Jeremiah 31:3
Because he's a good Father, he loves his children. He loves me.
It's who I am.
I'm loved by my Father.
That's my identity.
I struggle with who I am. I try to figure out myself and I often lose sight of who I am supposed to be. Who he wants me to be.
I'm loved by him.
Who he is, make me who I am.
That completes my identity. That makes everything in my life ok. Because no matter the storms, no matter the questions, the insecurity, the doubt and no matter the pain, I am loved by my Father. I find my peace, my comfort, my assurance, my hope, my joy, my confidence, my rest and my future in his love.
He's a good, good Father.
Who he is,
Makes me who I am.
Loved by him.
