That is exactly what Christian Horizons does. Christian Horizons is a non-profit, faith-based charitable organization serving nearly 2,000 people with developmental disabilities and their families in Ontario and 55,000 people developing communities worldwide. Their vision is to see people with exceptional needs belong to communities in which their God-given gifts are valued and respected.
They provide programs, like supported residential services and vocational supports, work with churches and other groups to create opportunities for people with disabilities. They also advocate for legislation, policy and social awareness about the realities and involvement of people with exceptional needs worldwide.
CEO of Christian Horizons, Janet Nolan, sits down with Moira and shares the heart behind the organization. While the work is hard, the success and reward of this labour is tremendous and satisfying.
