We have societies of people who have been told by families, traditions, cultures or government that when you are in a cycle of defeat, of rejection or failure, that you will never amount to anything. But Joyce Meyer as writes in her book, that if you want to make today different from yesterday, you have to understand that your history is not your destiny.
According to the word of God, every day is and can be a new day. New mercies every day. And if we believe that God can take anything and make good out of it, then our history never has to be our destiny. We can change it.
For years. Joyce had been saying "If only I haven't been abused…", she wished she wouldn't have been abused. Yet, God worked things out.
One day she had it in her mind again, "I wish I wouldn't have been….", and she could not finish the sentence. She realized that somehow, even though a terrible injustice has been inflicted upon her, it made her the person she is today.
This is simply the goodness of God.
You may not have a good beginning in your life, but you can have a good finish.
