Who wants to go on a treasure hunt? Sounds like a super fun family activity! Set up some clues around your house for your family to follow. Maybe some riddles, or some locations that need to be visited. At the end of the treasure hunt, have a treasure box ready with some treats. After your treasure hunt take some time to read Matthew 6:19 and talk about what the Bible says about our treasures - and how Jesus said to store up treasures in heaven, ones that can't be taken away. Talk about the things you treasure and what is really important to you.
Where's your treasure?
Items needed - Box, clues, treasures inside
Instructions - Hide the treasure box somewhere in the house, and make some clues for the children to find it.
Family Application - Talk about what the treasure means to everyone, then talk about what God says about treasure on earth and in heaven.
Scripture - Matthew 6:19 - Do not store up for yourselves treasure on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasure in heaven. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
