Jonas and his wife had always wanted their own family as they had both grew up with a large family. So they were really excited and celebrated the rest of the day when they found out that she was pregnant with their first child.
Living in an 800 square feet apartment, they started moving their bed around, engineering space for the upcoming new addition to their family. They have also picked out a name for their child, keeping it a secret from friends and family.
In October, they went for the usual ultrasound checkup. By then, they have seen quite a few pictures of their child in the previous checkups. The ultrasound technician, who was usually quite talkative, was being quiet this time round. In fact, the few words that came out of her mouth after some time was, "You have to see the doctor."
She went on to say that their son was not well and has something that is called Fetal Hydrops - a condition characterized by the abnormal amounts of fluid buildup in to or more body areas of a fetus or newborn, a symptom of underlying problems.
This was devastating news for the mom-to-be. In her mind, she had a picture of a healthy boy, but now he is not. And there was nothing she could do…
Yet despite what the outcome was, she decided to speak life.
This took them to a place where their hope is only on Christ and Christ alone - even as they plan for the funeral for the passing of their son.
"And looking at them Jesus said to them, ‘With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" - Matt 19:26
Through it all, God held this family in His loving hands.
