Many of us are rushing through life, trying to make it through each day and we're often left feeling exhausted and like we have no margin left for the things we love. But imagine if you made room in each day to pursue your passions and feed your creative heart and soul. It can be done.
The Fringe Hours, by Jessica Turner is a book that will help you take a look at your life and help you start to redeem the hours that you don't think you have. When you redeem your hours, it's a gift to yourself that will be part of making you more whole. Fringe is added to something to bring beauty. Making time for yourself in your fringe hours will help you create a more beautiful and well-rounded life.
Here are a few ideas we loved from Jessica's book
Create an inspiration board
Taking time to remember what you love and what inspires you is a creative exercise that is good for the soul. Sometimes in the busyness of life, we forget about those things that stir us and it's good to take time to focus. Create an inspiration board and remember all the things that you love!
Find hobbies that you love
Once you have thought about things that inspire you, it's time to go out and bring them to life. Make time in your fringe hours to do something that you really love - that is for you. Think of something that you loved to do as a child and chances are it will still make you happy!
Nurture your Spirit
Take time in God's word and in community with others to grow in your faith and fill your spiritual self. Taking care of your heart is important and will flow into everything else that you do.
Pockets of Time
Look for those pockets of time that you can use during your week. Jessica suggests keeping track for one week of all the things you do, to help you find those hours that maybe you could use better. Waiting at an appointment, early morning, late evening, or during a sports practice are all great opportunities to find those pockets.
