The iconic Dome of the Rock was where the Jewish temple was - the temple that had been rebuilt by Herod the Great himself. What Moira Brown and Dr. Craig Evans are looking at now would be very much the view that Jesus Himself would have had on the Mount of Olives.
They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you. - Luke 19:44
Dominus Flevit is the church that Moira and Dr. Craig visited in this clip. The name means "The Lord Wept" in Latin. It was designed in 1955 by the famous Italian architect Anton Barluzzi in the shape of a tear drop. How apt!
Jesus was on the Mount of Olives, looking at the Temple Mount, knowing what was coming to Him. He wept (John 11:35). He knew what the consequences will be when the people don't recognize His Kingship and it broke His heart.
Jesus was not the king that the people had expected. He entered the city riding on a colt, similar to what Solomon did back in 1 Kings 1, as a humble king.
Let's prepare ourselves for the Lord's second coming, so that we will be ready, as a church, to receive Him.
