Matt Tapley is the Lead Pastor at Lakemount Worship Center in Grimsby, ON. Today he shares on how we need to stay focused on our dreams and Gods purpose for our lives.
"We are all familiar with the parable the sower and the seed that Jesus shared about, part of the wisdom Jesus teaching model was that he would teach in parables which is to tell you, take something that you know about here, and then talk about something you need to know more about over here. He'd talk about a seed and say the Kingdom of God is like a seed, there is a whole lot that is in that."
"Matthew 13, he follows that up with another parable, is talking about where the good seed is sown into the field, and then something happened, the laborers in the field come to the landowner and say, sir didn't you sow good seeds into your field? He said yes I did, well then why are these weeds growing? He says, an enemy did this. Jesus is talking about how the word of God takes root in our hearts, but he is telling us that there is an enemy. While good seed and good promise, and the Word of God is sown into our hearts, there is an enemy, we know that, there is any enemy of our souls, at the same time trying to sow weeds, and things that will choke out the promises of God in our lives."
Matthew 13, the servants asks the landowner, do you want us to and pull them up these weeds? What is the response and what do we get out of this?
"Jesus is saying in this parable, if you pull up those weeds at the same time you are also going to pull up the wheat, you are going to pull up the good. What you need to do is leave it until harvest time, and we will sort it out then."
"Leave it to me, in eternity, some of these things you are
going to understand more, but I'll deal with it, I will bring justice to it, I'll
turn this in eternity. When we try to get to the bottom of every issue in life,
and the question of them, master, didn't you sow good seed? How come this happened
when you promised that? Those questions of faith are really real."
