Jerrill Sprinkle, President of MP Equipment Company, sits down with John Hull and shares his personal testimony and growing up in the business world.
Jerrill Sprinkle was born and raised in Alabama. His athletic skills opened the opportunity to be recruited and play football for the prestigious University of Alabama. There he played for Bear Bryant. What Jerrill took away during that time was a daily challenge Coach Bryant would give them. "Three things in life you really need to concentrate on. One you need to get better mentally, physically and spiritually." Jerrill came to know Christ more personally later in life. Until 20 years ago he had of view that God was there when he needed some thing and to punish him when he did something wrong.
As a Christian, working in business can be a conflict of interest. It can be hard to always try to do the right thing and try to keep Christ first. Jerrill would surround himself with people at work that were honest so he could be held accountable when he may not have done something right or fair.
Jerrills' tip for Christian business leaders is to begin your day with quiet time right in your office. In that time pray, read scripture and it will give you fuel for the day.
When he became a Christian Jerrill's life changed dramatically. What lead to that conversion experience was sparked through his son Hampton who was born with a genetic disorder Tuberous Sclerosis and with that came seizures from a young age. It was a very dark time for Jerrill and what brought him to his knees. His helpless feeling brought him to the point of surrender.
Randy Pope befriended him through a bible study and through lunches Randy shared the gospel to Jerrill. Randy showed him that God is in control of all things and that there is a God that loves him. The more Jerrill learned about him the more he felt peace. Its important to not let circumstances dictate the way you feel about life.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all you heart.
