I've heard it said that our culture is not struggling with being overweight due to a lack of knowledge. You and I both know that there thousands of articles and books about weight loss and fitness out there - all available at a click of the mouse. The real problem is the invisible things that are driving our poor choices and behavior. Perhaps you don't think you're worth all that much so you put everyone else before yourself. Perhaps you have undealt with pain and hurt that you choose to drown with bad food habits instead of the painful work of sorting out why you respond the way you do. Perhaps you've learned to cope with stress through a great movie with lots of unhealthy snacks and couch time. Whatever the reason, Magdalene John and I are committed to the idea of including a life coach in our journey to wellness. We don't just want to change our diets and fitness levels. Let's be honest - that's something that could be temporary due to the pressure of doing this on national television. We want to change our thoughts and behaviours…from the inside out. With that in mind, Maggie and I sat down with our phenomenal life coach Dr. Merry C. Lin to find out about the triggers that cause us to make poor lifestyle choices.
