Sidewalk Prophets "What A Glorious Night" & A Charlie Brown Christmas

Be inspired as Sidewalk Prophets Dave Frey shares his passion and inspiration behind the song, "What A Glorious Night!" Frey reminds us how the Shepherds were so filled with awe and wonder when they met baby Jesus, that they had to run through the town telling everyone in sight. The group wanted to write a song that captured the shepherd's joy and a joyous song it is!

To set the song off right, the Sidewalk Prophets wanted to couple it with an audio sample from the classic animated TV special, A Charlie Brown Christmas. In the special, Charlie Brown fails multiple attempts to bring meaning to the season when he finally resolves to ask his best friend Linus, "Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?"  Sidewalk Prophets' lead vocalist Dave Frey says, "It still gives me goose bumps to this day listening to that line," when Linus recites Luke 2:8-12:

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not; for, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill towards men."

Linus concludes, "...That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown."

Dear God, sometimes my "testing" season seems so long. Please give me courage to endure until the end. Help me not to bail! You said you would bless me for hanging in there - I will not give up on you or your promises. You are with me and will see me through this trial.
