Superbowl Appetizer Recipes

It's Superbowl weekend! A great time to gather with friends and family to enjoy one of the biggest sporting events of the year. No gathering is complete without some delicious snacks. Try one of the following recipes and make your party a success!

Mary's Avocado Corn Dip


1 avocado

1/2 can of sweet corn

1/4 of a red onion - diced

1/2 of a red pepper - diced

I can of black beans, drained


2/3 cup of apple cider vinegar

1/3 cup of olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste


Mix all the ingredients together

This dip stores well in the fridge for 2-3 days

Serve with corn chips

Ashley's Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts


1 (8 ounce) can of water chestnuts

1/2 cup of soy sauce

1 cup of brown sugar

8 slices of bacon cut in half crosswise (tip, almost freeze the bacon before cutting)


Dip the water chestnuts in the soy sauce

Roll each chestnut in the brown sugar.

Wrap each chestnut with a piece of bacon.

Secure with a toothpick.

Arrange in a shallow baking pan

Bake at 400 degrees F for about 40 minutes or until golden brown.

Becky's Buffalo Wing Dip


1/2 cup of crumbled blue cheese

1/2 cup of hot sauce

1/2 cup of blue cheese salad dressing

I block of softened cream cheese

1 cup of chopped up cooked chicken


Mix together the cream cheese, blue cheese and blue cheese dressing in a shallow dish

Mix in the chicken and hot sauce

Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until bubbling

Serve with corn chips
