Recently John Hull sat down with Anne Graham Lotz. He was so thrilled to have the opportunity to interview her. He has also spent time recently with Will Graham, grandson to Billy Graham, and Will's father Franklin.
He got to thinking about all these Graham's and the difference they are making today. Then he got to thinking about their 97-year-old father/grandfather Billy Graham and his faithfulness through the years.
Back in 1948, William Randolph Hearst a journalist in California was quite fascinated by a young evangelist named Billy Graham who was holding a crusade in LA. He sent a 2-word telegram to his editors at the LA paper that he owned. It said, "Puff Graham".
After that Billy Graham became a worldwide celebrity. Through the years Billy Graham never puffed himself.
He always made much of Jesus. He always increased or enlarged the presence of Jesus Christ in his message.
For Billy Graham he knew he had to decrease, and Jesus Christ had to increase.
That's a message all of us need to remember.
Thank You Billy Graham and thank you Graham family for carrying on that great tradition of humility that is found in Jesus Christ.
