The Brave Body Method

Eileen Wilder says,

"There are 4 easy steps to win the war on weight, and gain self acceptance!"

She has written, "The Brave Body Method". She has written this book after years of battling with eating disorders, depression and anxiety. She found a strategy that worked for her and lost the extra weight forever.

Her book is not a new diet plan; it is a die to your old thinking plan.

It is what we need to really get our mindset straight. Eileen says any outward change is the result of an inward transformation that always begins with our mind.

She worked hard on battling depression, eating disorders, and anxiety.

In college she was so overwhelmed. She had just been diagnosed with eating disorders. She didn't know how she had got there. She grew up in a great Christian home. She had head knowledge about who she was in Christ but it hadn't made it down to her heart. She had such self-loathing and hatred for herself. The image of looking at herself was so overwhelming and she felt so stuck.

The enemy works overtime to distort who we are in our own mind so we don't actually see who we really are.

Statistics say that when a woman looks in the mirror they overestimate their body size by 14%. What we see with our eyes isn't necessarily the truth about who God says we are.

Eileen shares the 4 steps to win the war;


It is all about seeing yourself as the masterpiece that God has created you to be. A masterpiece is a luxurious creation. God made you as a luxurious creation and if we owned that we would walk different, talk different, eat different, we would treat our bodies like they are the temples that God created.

Women are horrible at talking negative self-talk. We look at ourselves and focus on the negative thing. We are our own worst enemy. We have to start thinking about what we are thinking about. God wants us to guard our minds and set our thoughts on his thoughts.

That leads to the 4:8 Filter. Based on Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

That needs to be our goal in the morning. Only let what is good, pure, noble, and upright into our heads. Only what is worthy of praise get to us.


 Speak only what you seek. We underestimate the power of our words. The Bible has taught us that there is death and life in the power of the tongue. We need to fill our mouth with Gods word because it is so powerful. It doesn't return void. Using our words as weapons will inflict damage on the darkness that tries to come at us everyday.

Eileen used to face such horrible anxiety attacks. Even at the idea of overeating she would have an anxiety attack. Before she started to spiral into an anxiety attack she would take a small pause and speak truth to herself. That became an anchor for her.


We need to see that we were all created uniquely and understand that. The scripture talks about how the language of the Holy Spirit is dreams and visions. The Holy Spirit wants to give us a picture, a God dream that He wants us to run after. So often we don't ask God to paint on the canvas of our heart the picture of our future. If we would pause and allow the Holy Spirit to do that, He wants to give us something so exciting that it would beat the depression we often face. Without vision people perish. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to infuse us with an exciting picture.

We Need to Believe we are WORTHY and worth the investment to improve ourselves.


There is so much power in taking action. Acting like you are who God says you are.

Obviously to be healthy we also need to focus on eating, the 3 seeds she focuses on for this are EATING, EXERCISE, and CONFIDENCE.
